While Africa has 25% of the global arable land it only produces 10% of global agricultural output.
Inclusive approach ensures socio-economic and environmental integrity
We work with NGOs, governments and others in supporting livelihoods, improving ecosystems and managing environmental and social risk. We take a proactive approach to support inclusive local socio-economic development. In all of our projects, we identify how a commercial enterprise can also support the livelihoods of smallholders. In some cases this involves developing an “in-grower” model where farmers are trained on a commercial farm and then supported in setting up their own micro-enterprise. In other cases, we follow an “out-grower” approach where a nucleus farm supports the building of capacity in the surrounding area.
